Operating frequency of the Core i7-7500U is higher than the frequency of the Intel i7-5550U.
The microprocessor officially supports faster memory with 2133 MHz data rate, whereas the i7-5550U CPU is limited to LPDDR3-1866 memory. As such, the Intel Core i7-7500U processor has 14% higher memory bandwidth, which is very beneficial to memory bound tasks. Performance gains in programs, that are not memory-bound, will be lower.
